Understanding is a beginning.
Living is the point.
Truth to Live By is an independent home for useful ideas from philosophy, psychology, relationships and human performance.
We are interested in what an idea means when it leaves the page. How it changes a conversation. What it asks of an ordinary afternoon. Whether it helps us see ourselves or one another more clearly.
That is our central editorial question. We approach it with curiosity, care and a willingness to change our minds.
Good questions. Careful thinking.
A compelling story is not automatically good evidence. A respected thinker can be insightful in one area and mistaken in another. We aim to distinguish what someone claims, what the available evidence suggests, and our own practical interpretation.
- Discover. Begin with an idea or question worth exploring.
- Investigate. Seek the source and understand what it actually says.
- Contextualise. Ask where the idea applies, and where it may not.
- Challenge. Look for limitations, counterarguments and uncertainty.
- Synthesise. Bring the useful parts into a clear, honest account.
- Apply. Offer a practical reflection without promising more than we know.
Three connected areas of life.
Self explores attention, identity, meaning and resilience. Relationships considers communication, friendship and human connection. Living Well looks at the practices and conditions of everyday life.
One brand. Different ways in.
Our YouTube channel explores ideas on screen. Instagram, TikTok and Facebook offer shorter encounters. This website gives those ideas a lasting home, with room for context, references and further reading. One Truth to Live By will bring a considered idea into your inbox.
Transparent about how we work.
AI tools may assist research, production and presentation. Synthetic presenters, where used, should be clearly identified; they are not real experts. The brand remains responsible for its published material, and AI output is not a substitute for verifying a source.
Health and science coverage should make uncertainty visible and link to appropriate evidence. Practical interpretations are not individual medical, psychological, legal or financial advice.
Open to correction.
Ideas deserve scrutiny, including ours. Substantive changes should carry an updated date and, where appropriate, a correction note. If something needs attention, get in touch.
